General Accountant

Job Summary We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized General Accountant to join our Finance & Accounting team. The General Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing account reconciliations, supporting month-end closing, and ensuring that financial transactions are properly recorded in accordance with hotel policies and accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have previous accounting experience, preferably within a 4- or 5-star hotel, with strong attention to detail and a good understanding of hospitality accounting operations. Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger accounts. Record and verify daily financial transactions and journal entries. Perform monthly bank, balance sheet, and general ledger reconciliations. Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures. Prepare and maintain supporting schedules for balance sheet accounts. Review accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions when required. Monitor and reconcile intercompany accounts and internal transfers. Ensure proper recording and allocation of hotel revenues, expenses, and other financial transactions. Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and management reports. Investigate and resolve discrepancies in accounting records. Support the preparation of accruals, prepayments, provisions, and adjusting entries. Ensure compliance with hotel financial policies, accounting standards, and internal controls. Maintain proper documentation and filing of accounting records. Assist with internal and external audits by providing required schedules and supporting documents. Work closely with other Finance team members and hotel departments to ensure accurate financial reporting. Assist the Financial Controller and Chief Accountant with ad hoc financial and accounting tasks. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 2–4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a 4- or 5-star hotel. Good knowledge of general accounting principles and financial reporting. Strong understanding of reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and prepayments. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems. Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced hotel environment. Good communication and interpersonal skills. High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism. Previous experience in a luxury or international hotel. Knowledge of hospitality revenue, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and income audit processes. Professional accounting certification or qualification is an advantage. experience is an asset
